WORD WARRIOR POETIC PASSAGE: A warrior's path is a diligent practice that prepares one to embrace life with confidence, purpose, sensitivity and responsibility. Through the channel of poetry, rap, short stories, plays and journaling, the participants will claim their creative voice, and through words, creatively scribe their life testimonies.
Upon the completion of the workshop, the participants will be able to: • Discover their creative voice and process • Utilize their increased imagination and translate images into words • Write using a variety of poetic forms • Compose self affirmative poems • Speak comfortably in front of audiences • Demonstrate an increasing self-awareness, esteem and confidence • Display an increasing comprehension of English grammar • Increase literacy skills • Articulate an understanding of their personal worldview and develop an appreciation for multiple perspectives
